Superb screening tree with pointed long leaves and white flowers in autumn. Considered as evergreen in the South of England, it will only lose its leaves in the harshest of winters. The common name is Privet. Regular trimming to maintain shape is recommended and prevent the tree from becoming too woody. Prune from late spring and before the end of July so the new growth can harden off before winter. Planting from 1.2m centres, usually 1.2-2m.
